Stros’ and Dodgers Top Lefties Go in Pivotal World Series Game 5
World Series Game 5 is tonight on FOX and it is a very pivotal game for both squads. First pitch is set for 8:20 pm EST from Minute Maid Park in Houston. Game 1 of the World Series was a classic pitching duel with these guys, so don’t expect anything less tonight.
Oddsmakers have the Dodgers as -140-moneyline favorites. The total is at 7 Under -125 for World Series.
Clayton Kershaw owns a resume of a pitcher that can pitch in any ballpark he plays in. The wiffle ball dimensions in left field at Minute Maid Park can make anyone worry. The Houston Astros’ right-handed-heavy lineup comes into play tonight as they pack a punch.
With the World Series even at two games apiece the winner in Game 5will be set to move in control of a championship. Both Kershaw and Keuchel will need t omake that short porch not matter. Keuchel has the edge of it being his home park.
Astros Offense Loves the Long Ball
The Astros bashed three home runs into the boxes in left field in Games 3 and 4 of the World Series. Right-handed hitters responsible for each of the dingers. First baseman Yuli Gurriel in Game 3, plus center fielder George Springer and third baseman Alex Bregman in Game 4.
Dallas Keuchel suffered the loss against Kershaw in Game 1. He will get the ball aiming to send Houston back to Los Angeles with the series lead. With right-hander Justin Verlander on deck the Astros like their chances.
Keuchel was hurt by the gopher ball in the opener. He surrendered a leadoff homer to Chris Taylor in the first inning. Then he gave up a two-run blast to Justin Turner in the sixth that was the difference in the Dodgers’ 3-1 victory at Chavez Ravine.
