UFC Betting – Super Fight Likely Next Up For UFC Middleweight Champion Silva

Betting On Ufc         Despite the main card getting ravaged by injuries, UFC 153 actually turned out to be one of the year’s better cards. The two fighters whose performances stand out the most had to Jon Fitch and Demian Maia for obvious reasons, as Fitch relentlessly pounded young phenom Erick Silva to the very end of a unanimous decision win, while Maia choked out Rick Story until he was forced to tap with blood flowing out of his nose. The fact that Fitch and Maia had more impressive performances than UFC Middlweight champion Anderson Silva even despite the fact that the latter won his light heavyweight bout against Stephan Bonnar via first round TKO is a sign of the change that is needed at the highest level in the UFC. Silva beating down another helpless opponent may have been what the fans in Brazil wanted to see, but it certainly wasn’t very entertaining for the sports betting players at home looking to see a real fight. The problem now is the limited number of opponents actually capable of challenging Silva at any level in the UFC, although UFC President Dana White may have an answer in an interdivisional fight.   While it has been years since a potential online betting super-fight between Silva and UFC Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre was first discussed, a new and even more intriguing possibility has been gaining steam and White is confident it can happen. Speaking after UFC 153, White reiterated how impressive Silva has been in the Octagon, and how he never seizes to amaze. However, White also issued a challenge in terms of a potential super-fight between Silva and UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones, one of the fastest rising stars in the promotion. Silva has repeatedly turned down the opportunity to fight Jones, but White noted at the press conference that he feels the amount of money he will offer the Brazilian will be enough to change his mind.   The UFC President even went as far as to suggest Cowboys Stadium as the possible venue for the proposed super-fight between Silva and Jones, saying that he would negotiate with Silva’s crew over the next few weeks. Silva has two more fights remaining on his contract, and while the UFC Middleweight champion would like to sign an extension to include five more bouts, White would basically have an open book to that number if he can get Silva to agree to fight Jones. Silva already admitted he thinks one of the two fights remaining on his current contract will be against GSP, but it appears as though White would feel more comfortable with Silva going up in weight class, as St. Pierre has been out of action for more than an online sports betting year now while Jones has dominated his weight class.   Whichever way it ends up, it appears now as though a super-fight between Silva and Jones or Silva and GSP is destined to happen. Given the recent dominance of both Silva and Jones, it only makes sense that the two will eventually clash with one another. Time will tell if a deal eventually gets done, but for the sake of the sport at its highest level, UFC fans will continue to hope for a super-fight soon.
