The Western Athletic Conference, represented by the Utah State Aggies and the Mid American Conference, represented by the Toledo Rockets will clash this weekend in the 16th annual Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise, Idaho.

Toledo, tied for second place in the West Division of the Mid-American Conference with Ball State, will make its first appearance at the annual Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and 13th Bowl game since 1917.

Despite finishing the season with a 9-3 record overall, and a 6-2 record in the MAC, the team performance represents a successful debut for first-year head coach Matt Campbell, who took over when Tim Beckman left for Illinois.

The Rockets reached the BCS standings at No. 25th following eight straight wins, but back-to-back losses to Ball State and Northern Illinois that prevented the team from contending for the MAC title.

Toledo’s rival, the Utah State Aggies, will make their eighth bowl appearance in the program’s history and second straight year at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.  The No. 18 Utah State Aggies closed the season with 10-2 record overall, and 6-0 in the WAC, setting a school record for victories this season, and wining the conference title for the first time since 1936.

The Aggies enter the game with six straight victories and 15 wins in their last 18 games. Its only two defeats this season came by a combined five points to the No.22 Wisconsin Badgers (14-16) and BYU Cougars (3-6).

Game Odds:
Toledo Rockets: +10.5-110, ML +320
Utah State Aggies: -10.5-110, ML -400
