Rams and Seahawks Play on Short Week
As the weeks pile up, the NFL gets crazier and crazier. Thursday’s game is going to be a good one. The Rams have a way of beating the Seahawks when it looks like all is lost. Does any of that mean anything? The Rams are coming off a home loss to the lowly Buccanneers and it wasn’t merely a loss it was a 15-point smackdown. The Rams gave up 55-points to a team that has struggled, a team that has looked awful and to a team that was beaten by the 49ers at home. Where: Century Link Field
Time: 7:20 PM ET (FOX)
Line: Seahawks -1, Rams +1, O/U 49.5, Money Line – Rams +100, Seahawks -120
Both teams come into the game with a 3-1 record, the Rams are 2-0 on the road and the Seahawks are 1-1 at home. The Rams are 3-1 against the spread and the Seahawks are 2-2. The numbers say the Rams but this isn’t just any game. These two hate each other and one thing we can guarantee is a back and forth seesaw adventure.
Rams Need to Get Loaded Offense in Gear on Thursday Night Football
Jared Goff is having a solid year so far for the Rams with 1254 yards, but just 6 TD’s and 6 INT to boot. Although the Rams are 3-1 and have looked good, with a big exception in last week’s game, (they allowed 50-points to the Bucs, at home). They don’t seem to be in sink as they have been in the past. Goff is a fun quarterback to watch when he’s hot when he’s not, the Rams are a different team. This, of course, can be said for most any team in the NFL – How goes the QB play, so goes the team. What’s troubling about the Rams is the defense. Goff, Gurley, and Kupp will get their act together but this defensive unit is not coming together as planned.
Seahawks Still Dependent on Defense
Wade Phillips is a defensive guru and what he did with Denver is legendary. He was good everywhere he went including Buffalo, Houston, and Dallas. The guy can coach and has been the best of the best for a very long time. Possibly, quite possibly, the game is passing Wade by.
The Seahawks lost a big one at home to the Saints and this team seems to be riddled with doubt. Has the “ra-ra” from head coach Pete Carroll finally worn off? Look, we like coach Pete but let’s be honest, he is exactly that, a “ra-ra” guy. He calls some good plays and he calls some bad ones. He must figure out how to use his talent, not motivation. This is the NFL, not USC.
Not only did the Seahawks lose to the Saints, but they also had the 0-4 Bengals nearly run them in the first game of the year. That affair ended in OT, 21-20.
The Seahawks still have a top tier QB in Wilson and a solid defense but they must find themselves this week against the Rams and they are well aware this could be a pivot point in the season.

The Seahawks find a way and protect the home field, but it will be close and this game comes down to turnovers. Seahawks -1
