Perhaps this time last year a select few bold individuals would have expected the Denver Broncos to be fringe Super Bowl contenders heading into the 2012-13 season, but nobody could have predicted the man they’d field as their starting quarterback. Just weeks remain before the Peyton Manning experiment begins in earnest this September and NFL oddsmakers have already taken notice.

After an overplayed quarterback battle ended in a surprise playoff berth last season, the Broncos opted to go a safer route, landing an inevitable Hall of Fame arm looking for a change of scenery. If only it was always that simple. The addition of Manning has given the Broncos 16/1 odds of winning the Super Bowl.
Fans in the Mile High City will have to get used to the change of pace that Manning brings to the table, as the Bronco attack shifts from the ground to the air. It will be a welcomed transition period nonetheless. If the legendary quarterback can establish a connection with receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker, then a second consecutive playoff berth is well within reason.
