Will Kansas Jayhawks be Victim of Being Ranked #1?
The newest No. 1 team in college basketball will be in action on Wednesday night when the Kansas Jayhawks host the TCU Horned Frogs in a Big 12 Conference showdown.
These Jayhawks are scrappy, battle-tested, and easily have been one of the most consistent teams for the entirety of this 2019-20 college basketball season.

As a team, Kansas boasts multiple ranked victories this season and currently is riding a 14-game winning streak. With such an impressive resume, it is no wonder why the Jayhawks were unanimously voted as the No. 1 team in the country.
As a conference, the Big 12 has not been nearly as impressive this season as some of the other areas of the country.
Kansas leads the charge, with Baylor sitting extremely close behind it, then it gets fuzzy with some NCAA Tournament bubble teams like Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Texas.
TCU has not been very impressive this season, though it does sit above .500 with a record of 16-13. While this doesn’t look too good on paper, the Horned Frogs are coming off a tough victory against Baylor.
No Gimmes for Kansas Jayhawks
Anything can happen this college basketball season, and we have learned that as the weeks progressed and we have shuffled out the top rankings countless times.
Not less than two weeks ago was Baylor considered the best team in the country, and here comes the Horned Frogs beating them at home in impressive fashion.
Maybe that is why Bill Self expressed his concerns about this game over the weekend, stating that it was not a gimme of a game by any means.
Even with that concern on the table, Kansas is still the best team in the country. They have the perfect combination of talent and senior leadership on their roster.
Udoka Azubuike has elevated his game and turned into a dominating rebounder as well as a low-post scorer.
In their top-ranked matchup against Baylor, Azubuike turned up his game and destroyed the glass with nearly 20 rebounds to go with his 23 points.
It is the perfect time for him to take his leap as a player, and it brings this entire roster together. TCU is going to have its hands full trying to find ways to prevent him from scoring.
His strength to go along with his height is what makes him such a presence in the place. Boxing him out is going to be a number one priority.

This, That and a College Basketball Dart Throw
For TCU to have any chance in this game, guard Desmond Bane is going to have to have himself a monster game scoring the basketball.
Their offense revolves around him, and he is crucial to TCU’s success on the court.
On the other side, Devon Dotson is a legit baller and can change the momentum of any game at any time.
As a Wooden Award watch, Dotson could come out and show why he is the best player in the country for this game.
As expected for this one, our friends over at VietBet have the Kansas Jayhawks favored in this game at home by -16.5 and the total is sitting at 130. All U.S. players are accepted at VietBet.
I can understand why Bill Self would be worried about this game from a coaching perspective. With an easier opponent, maybe his team would roll over a little bit and not compete as hard.
With that in mind, I don’t think Kansas is going to experience any trouble at home. They should be able to extend their winning streak to 15 games with no problem.
Take Kansas in this game to win outright and continue their dominance heading into the Big 12 Tournament.
