Royals and Tigers Battle Down the Stretch

In a series that was predicted by most to be a sweep for the surging Tigers and struggling Royals the result has been quite a surprise. The Tigers have dropped two games to the Royals. They have fallen three games back on divisional leaders the Chicago White Socks.

After a promising 5-1 record last week it was looking like Detroit could be closer to a divisional lead. Unfortunately for the Tigers they have seemingly lost their pitching and hitting.

The Royals on the other hand are filling the role of spoiler well. They have found a way to get the opportune hits and pitches to keep the Tiger’s offense and pitching on edge.

In the last game of an important series it’d be wise to consult an online sports book to make sure you’re prepared for an unpredictable matchup.

Why Detroit Will Win…

Detroit knows that every win in the next four weeks will be crucial. They know if they are going to secure top spot among the AL Central and win the wild card race. With a series against the Chicago White Socks around the corner you can bet that the Tigers are starting to feel some pressure.

The Tigers needs to improve in all areas for the last game of the season after losing 8-9 in a slug fest and dropping a close match 1-0, the Tigers have simply not gotten the breaks they need.

Miguel Cabrera has a batting average that sits fourth in the American League and sixth in the MLB. The Tigers need to find themselves more offense again. In order for this to happen Detroit will need better production from Cabrera.

He went 1 for 4 last night and has a .192 batting average over his last eight games. The slugger who is leading the Tigers in almost all offensive categories has not been playing to the standard his team needs him to be at.

On the mound for Detroit is Rick Porcello(9-9, 4.60ERA). He has been pitching well for the Tigers but hasn’t been able to find the run support. He did manage to beat the Royals the last two times he did pitch.

He has a promising ERA of 3.71 which could bold well for the Tigers if they get their bats swinging.

Why Kansas Will Win…

KC is sitting thirteen games back in the wild card race. With dreams of the future the Royals simply put, have nothing to lose. The pressure is nowhere to be found and all of it has been shifted to the win-hungry Tigers.

The Royals have matched the Tigers over the course of two games with pitching and offense.  In order for the Royals to win this ball game they have to keep the Tiger’s bats at bay and counter with timely runs.

Who Will Win…?

The wild card and divisional lead are up for grabs. The Tigers are going to have to turn it around on Kansas City. Someone looking to bet on betting sites  will be playing the odds on this series.
