Rockets and Clippers Battle in ESPN Late Game

Lou Williams on Fire for Rockets Since Trade

The Houston Rockets invade Los Angeles to play the Clippers Wednesday night at the STAPLES Center. The Rockets have won two of three games after the trade for Lou Williams before the trade deadline. Williams returns to LA for his first game since being traded. The clash of Western Conference contenders Wednesday night at Staples Center looks to be a good one on paper. Williams scored 81 points in three games after being acquired by the Rockets from the Los Angeles Lakers for Corey Brewer and a first-round pick last week. Oddsmakers opened the Rockets as PK versus the Clippers. The line now has the Clippers as 2-point favorites. The game’s total opened at 232. In their last action, Los Angeles was a 124-121 winner at home against the New Orleans Hornets. They failed to cover the -11-point spread as favorites, while the combined score (245) was profitable news for OVER bettors. Blake Griffin had a season-high 43 points with 10 rebounds in the win. The Clippers, who were fifth in the conference race, ended a two game losing streak. They are one-half game behind the Utah Jazz. Houston lost its last outing, a 117-108 result against the Indiana Pacers on February 27. The Rockets failed to cover in that game as a -10-point favorite, while the 225 combined points took the game UNDER the total.
