Pacers and Pistons in Middle of Tight Playoff Race

The fans at Bankers Life Fieldhouse will see the Detroit Pistons and the Indiana Pacers when they take their seats on Wednesday. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN at 8 pm EST.

The playoff race is starting to heat up in the Eastern Conference. The sixth and seventh seeds in the East, the Pacers and Pistons, are right in the middle of it.

Oddsmakers opened the Pacers as -3.5-point favorites versus the Pistons, while the game’s total opened at 205.

In their last action, the Pacers were a 100-88 loser on the road against the Charlotte Hornets. They failed to cover the +4.5-point spread as underdogs, while the combined score (188) was profitable news for UNDER bettors. Indiana is just 3-12 on the second night of a back-to-back. When given at least one day of rest, the squad is 29-19.

Last time out for Detroit, they were a 109-95 winner as they battled the Chicago Bulls at home. The Pistons covered in the game as a -6-point favorite, while 204 combined points moved the game UNDER the total. The Pistons own the seventh best rebounding percentage league. This is in large part to Andre Drummond’s 13.8 rebounds per game. Rebounding has been an issue for the Pacers and Detroit will try to exploit that weakness this time around.
