After losing five straight games, the Winnipeg Jets have bounced back. They will look to push their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Jets are home versus the Oilers (8PM ET on TSN3). Jets’ centre, Mark Scheifele, is tied for second in the NHL in goals (13) and points (26). Right winger Patrik Laine leads all rookies this season with 13 goals and 19 points. The Edmonton Oilers (12-10-2 SU, 13-11 ATS) are arguably the NHL’s most surprising team through the first quarter of the 2016-17 season. They finished last in the Western Conference the 2015-16 season with a record of 31-43-8. The Oilers have exceeded expectations so far this season. Their strong start can largely be attributed good early-season performances. The play of team captain Connor McDavid (11 goals, 20 assists) and goaltender Cam Talbot (2.56 goals against average, .917 save percentage) have been vital. After three tough losses, they’ll look to get back on track at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
