NFL Wild Card Preview & Free Pick- Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers

Nfl Wildcard Game

Dolphins Depend on Moore

The 10-6 Miami Dolphins will return to the postseason for the first time since 2008 in Sunday’s NFL Wild Card matchup against the 11-5 Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast nationally on CBS. BetAnySports opened the Steelers as heavy 10-point home favorites. The total opened for the game has been set at 47.5. The line is now is -11.5 and the total is now 47. The Dolphins won just once in its first five games this season. They have turned things around in a big way with a straight-up 9-2 record in their last 11 games. They were a profitable 8-2-1 against the spread for sports bettors. The Dolphins ended the regular season on a down note with a 35-14 loss to rival New England. They were 7.5-point underdogs at home. The total went OVER BetAnySports’ 47-point closing line. The total has gone OVER in their last six games. It will be Matt Moore under for Miami today. Ryan Tannehill continues to be sidelined with a knee injury. Moore started the last three games of the season. While he has not been spectacular, he has tossed eight touchdowns against three interceptions. Second-year back Jay Ajayi has added a huge spark to the running game. He finished with 1,272 rushing yards and eight touchdown runs on 260 carries.

Steelers Shake of Sluggish Start

Pittsburgh was also able to shake off a sluggish start this season and it has built up some serious momentum for the playoffs with a SU seven-game winning streak to close out the regular season. The Steelers have gone 5-1-1 ATS during this run and the total has gone OVER BetAnySports’ closing line in three of their last four contests. They are 4-3-1 ATS at home this season and the total has gone OVER in three of their last four home games. With Ben Roethlisberger throwing the ball to Antonio Brown for 1,284 yards and 12 touchdowns and Le’Veon Bell adding another 1,268 yards and seven scores on the ground, Pittsburgh was ranked seventh in the NFL in yards per game (372.6) while averaging 24.9 points a game. The Steelers’ defense was 12th in the NFL in yards allowed (342.6) and 10th in points allowed (20.4). The Dolphins beat Pittsburgh 30-15 in mid-October as 7.5-point home underdogs in a game that stayed UNDER the closing 49.5-point line. I have Pittsburgh returning the favor this time around in a game that goes OVER BetAnySports’ current 47-point total line.
