NFL Week 14 Preview: Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans
Line: Colts -5 1/2 and total is 46 1/2
Week 13 is wrapped up in the NFL and the result was one of the most exciting weeks of football thus far. It was also very exciting for those who like to bet on sports. Week 14 expects to see much of the same excitement as teams hope to secure a playoff spot with only three weeks left in the season. Andrew Luck continues the Indianapolis Colt’s win streak after a last second win against Detroit last week. Their week 14 opponent will be a little less of a challenge as they take on the Tennessee Titans who are sitting at 4-8 in the AFC South.
The Colts are clearly the better team here, especially with Andrew Luck at the helm. His leadership has taken the Colt’s out of the NFL basement, and put them in Wild Card contention. He throws for an average of 277 passing yards per game and is able to convert third down 45 percent of the time. Reggie Wayne has had an amazing season as the Colt’s main receiver with 1105 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile rookie T.Y. Hilton has had a breakout season as one of the team’s most clutch receivers. On the ground, Vick Ballard and Donald Brown have led the backs to average 108 yards per game. Many of the best online betting sites agree that the Colts are the favorites in this game.
The Titans have had a frustrating season thus far, especially with rumors of coaching changes, quarterback issues and a lack performance from Chris Johnson. The star running back has run for 942 yards, the most on the team, however, the second biggest rusher is quarterback Jake Locker. Meaning, there has not been anyone else who can run the ball well. Even worse, the Titan’s passing game has left a lot to be desired as it is Nate Washington who leads the team with a measly 537 receiving yards for four touchdowns. The Titans average 220 passing yards per game and 106 rushing yards.
There has not been a consistent quarterback with Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker exchanging the starting position several times over the course of the season. The result has been a team without a consistent leader and it shows in the Tennessee win/lose record. Many online sports books are not depending on the Titans to achieve an upset, but the payout could be huge if they do.
Tennessee is coming off a tough loss against powerhouse Houston Texans, while the Colt’s come off one of their closest and most exciting games of the year. Expect the Colts to come into this game with a lot of energy and take it, probably by four points or more according to many betting sites.
