Panthers and Lions are in Must Win Modes for Playoff Race
The Carolina Panthers return to action this Sunday as 4-point road favorites for a 1 p.m. kickoff on FOX against the Detroit Lions. The total went OVER 44.5 points against the Bears and it has gone OVER BetAnySports’ closing line in four of their last five games. Detroit is 2-2 both SU and ATS at home this season. Matthew Stafford had a long day at Soldier Field on Sunday with a pair interceptions and six sacks for a loss of 45 yards. This was on the heels of the offense’s dismal showing against Minnesota the Sunday before in a 24-9 road defeat. The pressure to move the ball down field through the air has been heightened by a running game that is ranked 23rd in the league in rushing yards per game. The Lions’ defense is 28th when it comes to points allowed (27.1). Carolina had a bad day against Pittsburgh while Detroit is spiraling downward in the wrong direction.
