Falcons Will Look to Control the Clock Against the Niners for those in NFL Betting Circles

NFL betting has been tricky through five weeks of the 2022 NFL Season. The San Francisco 49ers seem to have their legs under them right now and they appear to be ready to mount a charge for the NFC West Title. Last week the Falcons played another close one, this time against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, coming back from a 21-point deficit to give themselves a chance in the final minutes and get victimized by what looked to everybody to be a bad call.

NFL Betting — Talking about the Niners
After last Sunday’s victory in Charlotte, the team felt it would have been foolish to go all the way back to the West Coast and then return to the East Coast. So they did what they have done several times in recent years, which is that they camped out in West Virginia and practiced there. Garoppolo has now thrown only one interception in 107 attempts.
And the rushing game, which is awaiting the return of Elijah Mitchell, got a big boost with 120 yards out of Jeff Wilson. You get the feeling that the San Francisco ground attack is going to work to some extent no matter who they have in there because of the zone-blocking schemes that are employed by head coach Kyle Shanahan. You can expect Jimmy G will be looking more at George Kittle, who has been coming back from an injury and had five catches against the Panthers last week.
NFL Betting –Talking about the Falcons
Mariota had just 147 yards through the air against the Buccaneers, but added 61 on the ground. No, he doesn’t throw the ball all that much, but he has averaged 13 yards per completion. Obviously we know that the backfield took a blow when Cordarrelle Patterson went out with a knee injury. He is still out of action. And Kyle Pitts has been bothered by a hamstring injury. He did not suit up last week. But they expect to have him here.
You have to admit that this team has a lot of fight in it; they have covered all five games against the spread and cut the Tampa Bay lead from 21-0 to 21-15 and would have gotten the ball back with a chance to win if Grady Jarrett had not been called for a very dubious roughing-the-passer penalty on Tom Brady.
The Falcons have been doing the job on the offensive line, as the ground game has averaged 5.1 yards per carry and leads the NFL in yards before contact.
NFL Betting — So what’s the verdict?
Well, despite the fact that Atlanta has more virtues than we thought they would have at this time of the year, San Francisco’s defense looks like it can slow down what the Falcons do best. In the advanced metrics, they are second in the NFL in adjusted line yards, and they lead the league in both yards and points allowed on a pro drive basis.
They’ll continue to run the ball, play defense, and rely on Garoppolo not to give games away. So we can give them a mild recommendation. But we also we’ll play the total, as the 49ers have played eleven of the last 13 games under.
