New Look Hawks Look to Stop the Cavs

The Cleveland Cavaliers look to go 7-0 on Tuesday when they battle the new look Hawks at Quicken Loans Arena. Jeff Teague and Al Horford are gone from Atlanta, replaced in the starting lineup by Dwight Howard and Denis Schroder.  This lineup gives the Hawks a totally different dimension.

Oddsmakers currently have the Cavaliers listed as 8½-point favorites versus the Hawks, while the game’s total is sitting at 208.

Cleveland won its last outing, a 102-101 result against the 76ers on November 05. The Cavaliers failed to cover in that game as a -12.5-point favorite, while the 203 combined points took the game UNDER the total. The Cavs have won the last 11 meetings between the teams. This includes a sweep in the conference semifinals last spring when they set 3-point shooting records and won each game by an average of 12.5 points. Cleveland swept all seven meetings last season, including the playoffs.

Atlanta was a 112-97 winner in its last match at home against the Rockets. They covered the -3-point spread as favorites, while the total score of 209 sent UNDER bettors to the payout window. Kyle Korver is also expected to miss Tuesday’s game after the birth of a son on Sunday.
