NCAA Futures Say Irish, But Individual Line Favors Oklahoma in Week 9 Clash

Oklahoma Sooners

Sooners and Irish Should be a Doozy

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have knocked off three top 25 opponents already this season, on Saturday, however, they’ll face their toughest challenge yet. Though No. 5 in the BCS standings, their college football odds are far from guaranteed.

Lining up against the historic Irish will be the Big 12 powerhouse Oklahoma Sooners. Sitting No. 8 in the same standings, the Sooners have comparable odds of winning the National Championship. Heading into the game, Notre Dame sits at 14/1 on the college football futures, while Oklahoma trails at 18/1.

On the individual game line, however, it’s the Sooners with the advantage. A 12-point spread advantage to be exact. That will put all the more pressure on Brian Kelly to show up this Saturday with an impressive enough plan to protect their undefeated record.

Sooners and Jones are in High Gear

The Sooners have ridden wunderkind Landry Jones to 12 touchdowns so far this season, but the Irish are the No. 2 defense in the country. Although a close game would allow either club to continue relatively unscathed in the standings, a big decision either way could potentially sabotage one of the two programs chances of contending in the BCS.

There are fewer bigger games on the college football moneyline this season than this one.
