NCAA Basketball Odds: Hoosiers Ranked No. 1, Trail Kentucky on Moneyline
Believe it or not, the No. 1 team on the college basketball moneyline isn’t the No. 1 team in the eyes of AP pollsters, that honor belongs to Cody Zeller and the Indiana Hoosiers. After an appearance in the Sweet Sixteen last spring, Tom Crean’s Hoosiers have topped the preseason rankings as the calendar shifts to November.

Indiana will break camp trailing the lauded Kentucky Wildcats on the March Madness futures, but aren’t far off winning a National Championship of their own. According to Bovada, the Hoosiers have 7/1 odds of winning an NCAA basketball championship this season.
Whereas the reigning champion Wildcats are ripe with NBA talent ready to one-and-done their way to the pros, hopes of Hoosiers fans fall on the shoulders of a sophomore. Last season the aforementioned Zeller averaged 15.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, but will have to increase that production if he plans to live up to the hype he’s been given in his second Division I season.
After tipping off their 2012-13 season against Bryant University on Nov. 9, it won’t be long before their first run-in with a solid competitor on the NCAA moneyline. College basketball betting fans will line up long before the Nov. 27 clash between Indiana and preseason No. 11 North Carolina.
The Hoosiers may seem understaffed compared to some of the contenders they’re up against on the board, but don’t rule out an improvement on last year’s success.
