Bulls Look for Consistency
Tuesday night’s slate in the NBA features an Eastern Conference clash between the Chicago Bulls and the Orlando Magic. The NBA matchup is set to tip at 7 p.m. (ET) tip at the Amway Center.
BetAnySports has opened Chicago as a slight 2.5-point road favorite. The total for the game has been set at 206.
The Bulls (22-23) are coming off a much needed 102-99 victory against Sacramento at home this past Saturday. They fell to Dallas at home and Atlanta on the road in their previous two outings. They failed to cover in all three of those games on BetAnySports’ closing betting line. These losses make the Bulls fall to 2-4 against the spread in their last six games. They have an overall record ATS of 21-24. The total stayed UNDER 205 against Sacramento and it has stayed UNDER in five of Chicago’s last eight games.
Dwyane Wade turned back the clock a bit this past Saturday with a team-high 30 points and four blocked shots. Jimmie Butler added 23 more points to the winning cause. Butler is averaging 24.7 points per game as the team’s leading scorer. Chicago is ranked 23
rd in the league in scoring with 101.2 PPG, but it jumps to sixth when it comes to points allowed (101.4).
Magic Look to Stop Downward Spiral
Orlando’s season continues to spiral downward with just three SU wins in its last 13 games to fall to 18-28 SU on the year. The Magic have failed to cover in three of their last four games as part of an overall record of 19-25-2 ATS. They have gone just 6-14-2 ATS at home this season and the total has stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line in their last four home games.
For at least one half of basketball Orlando was able to keep pace with the NBA’s top team, but by the end of this past Sunday’s home game against Golden State it was on the wrong end of a final 118-98 loss as a 13.5-point underdog. Elfrid Payton led the Magic with 23 points and 10 assists and Jeff Green added 12 points off the bench. Orlando’s current injury report has both DJ Augustin and CJ Wilcox listed as questionable for Tuesday night.
The Bulls have not been the reliable betting team in recent games, but this matchup sets up a good opportunity to go with Chicago on the road. The Bulls need every SU win they can get to stay relevant in the
Eastern Conference standings and I have them getting one on Tuesday night while covering the 2.5 points.
