NBA Betting – Which Star Players Will Return from Injury First?
When the NBA season started, the online sportsbook experts were keeping a close eye on the injured superstars that were not able to start the season on active rosters. Since the season started, Amar’e Stoudemire was able to make it back on to the New York Knicks’ roster and his return has triggered a series of changes that the team will need to make.
Now the sports betting world waits to see who the next superstar will be to return to the court. In some cases, the teams that are missing these star players are showing the ill effects of having that roster spot remain open. Some teams are able to cope and stay in the playoff hunt while their stars recover. But there are three teams that desperately need their superstars back or else their seasons could be lost; the Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers.
Derrick Rose – Chicago Bulls
Potentially the most well-known superstar injury in the NBA this season is the knee injury to Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls. Last season, the best sports betting sites wondered if Rose would recover from a serious groin injury he suffered earlier in the season. He recovered from his injury just in time to get injured again prior to the playoffs. That knee injury has kept Rose from participating in practices or doing anything with the Bulls this season. Rose has been able to travel with the team for recent road trips, but his return to the court is still seen as being months away.
Dirk Nowitzki – Dallas Mavericks
The online betting world had no idea that Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki was having problems with his knee until the injury was revealed just prior to the preseason. Nowitzki was able to give the knee a try on December 23, and it appears that the knee held up to limited game time use. But the prognosis on Nowitzki’s full recovery is not good. While the superstar continues to play and work on rehabbing his knee, he is obviously not 100 percent healthy just yet. While the Mavericks and Nowitzki do fear the possibility that he could reinjure his repaired knee, the team doctors feel that the knee is healthy enough to allow Nowitzki to continue to play and add minutes to his workload.
Andrew Bynum – Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers gave a hero’s welcome to Andrew Bynum when he signed his contract over the summer. After several frustrating years with the Los Angeles Lakers, Bynum was finally going to be the key player and big man for an NBA team. Even though the 76ers were well aware of Bynum’s behavioral problems, the team chose to ignore those issues and signed Bynum anyways. Prior to the preseason, Bynum injured his knee and he has yet to play a game with the 76ers. The injury has been attributed to everything from lingering damage to a bowling injury, and it may also wind up sidelining Bynum for the entire season.
