NBA Betting – Bulls and Knicks Battle it Out in the Garden
Chicago Bulls @ New York Knicks – Friday January 11, 2013 8:00PM EST
Line: Knicks -4 and the total is at 191
Things were looking bleak in Chicago for a little while. The betting public started to wonder if the pressure of trying to play without Derrick Rose was finally getting to the Bulls. But after a rough stretch, Chicago seems to have figured a way out of its funk. In the last 10 games, the Bulls have a record of 6-4. That may not seem too impressive to some people, but it is a drastic improvement over the trend that the Bulls had established just a few weeks ago.
The New York Knicks have been doing some adjusting of its own lately. The online casino players had been wondering how the Knicks would react to the return of Amar’e Stoudemire. The biggest concern was how Stoudemire would get along with Carmelo Anthony in the starting rotation. Much to the surprise of the Knicks, Stoudemire has been more than agreeable to the idea of playing off the bench as he continues to get back into game shape. Stoudemire is still showing ill effects from his injury and his extended time off, but he is starting to get his game back. That can only be good news for the New York Knicks.
Chicago Bulls
The sports betting online experts insist that, even without Rose in the lineup, there is still too much talent on the Bulls’ roster to be anything less than a playoff contender. The only problem for Chicago is that the team lacks depth. If any other starters get hurt, then that could start a series of problems that could set the Bulls way back. With Rose’s return still undecided, the Bulls are going to continue to work hard to try and avoid losing any more ground in the Eastern Conference standings.
New York Knicks
The betting sites see a very strong and consistent team when they look at the New York Knicks. Carmelo Anthony’s recent antics with Kevin Garnett should be no more than a quick sidetrack to what is promising to be a very interesting season. The Knicks look ready to compete against any team in the Eastern Conference, including the Miami Heat. New York will need to focus on its perimeter defense if it wants to win this game as Chicago has become adept at playing outside the paint. But this is a Knicks team that continues to be full of surprises on both offense and defense.
The Bottom Line
The last thing the Knicks need is a distraction, and Carmelo Anthony knows that. The return of Amar’e Stoudemire and the incident with Kevin Garnett have been temporary issues that the team seems to have been able to handle. The Bulls is still trying to learn to live without Derrick Rose, and it looks like it is learning quickly. But it may not be learning quickly enough to win this game.
