Look for Cleveland to turn to Shane Bieber as its starter for Monday night. His last outing on July 24 against Pittsburgh was a brief one. He got shelled for seven earned runs on seven hits in just 1 2/3 innings.
The right hander had gone at least six innings in each of his previous five trips to the mound. His current ERA stands at 4.80 with a 1.44 WHIP.
Twins Look to Right Ship After Long Road Trip
Minnesota is coming off an extended 10-game road trip. They went 4-6 after losing the last three games of the four-game weekend series against Boston. It was outscored 17-7 in those three losses. The total staying UNDER VietBet’s closing line in two of the three games. The Twins are 48-56 on the year with a 29-22 record at home. The total has gone OVER in seven of their last nine home games. Ervin Santana missed the first half of the MLB regular season with a finger injury. Last Wednesday he his season debut against Toronto. The right hander allowed three earned runs on seven hits in five innings pitched. He struck out five and issued one walk. Minnesota went on to win that game 12-6, but Santana did not get the decision. I am going with Cleveland on the road in Game 1 of this series. I think the Indians can take advantage of the rust that is still present in Santana’s throwing arm.
