MLB Playoff Betting: Rays Seek Wild Card, Host O’s in Finale

Mlb Baseball Betting On The Tampa Bay Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays may be down to their last hope, but an American League wild card berth is still a distinct reality. Sure their MLB odds have cooled, but with AL East rival (and currently playoff-bound) Baltimore in town for the finale series, anything could happen.

Although the Orioles have fought neck and neck for the AL East crown for much of the second half of the season, they haven’t quite locked down a playoff berth. With the New York Yankees coming on strong in the division, and a number of American League teams – like the Rays – showing an ability to contend for a wild card spot, they simply haven’t found a large enough lead to clinch.

It’s not all pessimism at Camden, however. With 16/1 odds of winning the World Series, the Orioles are one of the most intriguing options on the moneyline. The Yankees in contrast, sit considerably higher at 11/2 while the Rays fall further down at 30/1.

With just days remaining in the regular season, the O’s will be tasked with desperately defending their wild card while the Rays, among others, look for one last surge capable of pushing them into the playoff bracket. For Tampa Bay, it wouldn’t be the first time.
