MLB Odds: Rays Host Rangers as Wild Card Race Looms
The Tampa Bay Rays are on the outside looking in when it comes to the American League playoff race, but that doesn’t mean the MLB odds have started to take them lightly. This weekend baseball betting fans will get a good idea of just how much damage the club can cause when they play host to the AL West-leading Texas Rangers.

According to Bovada’s MLB oddsmakers, the Rays have 15/1 odds of winning the World Series. Not bad considering they currently sit back of either of the two AL wild card berths and third in their stacked division. Considering their impressive run last September, however, and their recent track record altogether (three berths in the last four seasons) they’re a hard team to rule out.
Lining up against them in the three-game set will be a Rangers team that’s had no problem getting out in front of their division and holding on. As a result, Texas has an MLB best 5/1 shot on the longterm baseball moneyline.
The Rays will have their work cut out for them as they try desperately to squeeze past the Baltimore Orioles and into the No. 2 spot in the AL East – and it’s far from guaranteed – but it’s a road they’ll have to cross eventually if they want to finally end one of the impressive seasons with a ring.
