MLB Odds: Long Clinched, Reds Face Giants in NLDS
Amid the thrill of a playoff race, it’s easy to lose perspective when looking at MLB odds, but while the American League has dominated much of the national spotlight with last-minute rallies and postseason runs, the National League has been home to some of the league’s most imposing, and consistent, contenders. The Cincinnati Reds, for one – the first in baseball to clinch a berth – will fly into their NLDS debut suspiciously under the radar.

Lining up against the NL Central leading Reds will be the NL West winner San Francisco Giants. Despite the lack of fanfare that the National League has received heading into October, however, MLB oddsmakers haven’t lost faith in their ability to pay out.
According to Bovada, the Reds have 5/1 odds of winning the World Series, a mark matched only by the Washington Nationals and New York Yankees across all of the MLB futures. The Giants, in contrast, sit further back with 15/2 odds.
With the first two games scheduled to take place in the Bay Area before the series shifts up to Cincinnati, Giants fans will tune in hoping to catch the dominant Reds on their heels. It won’t be easy but stranger things have happened on the October baseball moneyline.
