Astros are a Force with 5 Straight Series Wins
The Houston Astros are back in the thick of the World Series hunt. They’re miles in front of the American League West at 45-22. Tonight they’ll host the Milwaukee Brewers, who are 38-28, in the first game of a two-game set at Minute Maid Park. Houston has matched the best start in club history and is 27-8 in its last 35 games.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Freddy Peralta (3-2, 5.11 ERA) vs. Astros RH Brad Peacock (5-3, 3.20)
Houston has won five straight series and is 10-0-1 in its last 11 sets. This has happened despite missing key regulars such as George Springer, Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa. Houston won two of three from Baltimore over the weekend.
The Brewers, who have been at or near the top of the National League Central for much of the season. They are sending Freddy Peralta (5.11 ERA) to the hill. The 2nd-year right-hander has registered a 3-2 record so far and has dropped 1.44 betting units along the way. Peralta was their No. 10-ranked prospect heading into the 2018 campaign. He’s had just two quality starts in 2019, leaving the Over at 5-2.

The Astros continue to receive key contributions from their call-ups this season. Yordan Alvarez is the latest to deliver. The 6’5″. 21-year-old Cuban, belted a two-run homer Sunday in his second career at-bat. He had been on fire before the call-up, as he hit a minor league-most 23 home runs in 56 games this season with Triple-A Round Rock. Milwaukee has won four straight after sweeping three from Pittsburgh. They continue to spar with the Chicago Cubs for National League Central supremacy. The Astros‘ Brad Peacock has excelled since going to a full wind-up with the bases empty. Peacock suffered his first loss since changing his delivery after allowing two runs, four hits and two walks in his last outing. He struck out six in five innings of a 14-1 loss at Seattle on Wednesday. He is 3-1 with a 1.32 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in six starts since making the change. He also has chipped in 41 strikeouts in 34 innings during that span. Peacock has never faced Milwaukee. He has a 5.28 ERA after his first seven games (five starts) this season, but has righted the ship it seems.
The Brewers’ Peralta allowed one run and four hits with nine strikeouts over six innings of a 5-1 victory over Miami on Thursday. The Dominican native was 0-1 and allowed three runs in 7 1/3 innings over his previous three appearances, all in relief. Peralta has never faced Houston. He has struggled early in games so far this season. He has yielded a .368 batting average against in pitches 1-15 with three home runs among the 14 hits he has given up. Christian Yelich has hit eight of his major league-most 24 home runs this season on the first pitch and nine on the second. Mike Moustakas has 20 home runs and 43 RBI’s so far this season.
