Can the Houston Rockets Take Control of the Series?
The Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets meet up for Game 3 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals. We’re excited to see the outcome as we feel this can go either way, depending on who catches fire and who gets in a slump.
In Game 1, the Lakers couldn’t hit a shot to save their lives, while Houston was connecting on all cylinders. In Game 2, the tables turned and the Lakers jumped off to an impressive start, while at the same time Russell Westbrook had one of his worst playoff performances to date.
So let’s see what Game 3 holds for both teams tonight!

This Game Could Decide the Series
Let’s go back to Sunday night with Lebron and the Lakers feeling the pressure to even the series at one and not letting the Rockets get a comfortable lead. They came out swinging early on in the 1st quarter and ended up leading by 16 points. The 2nd quarter was evenly matched and the Rockets ended the half with a double-figure deficit.
The 3rd quarter came along and the Lakers seemed to get too loose, which permitted the small-ball Rockets to get back in the game. Lebron and AD stepped it up in the last quarter to end up with an 8 point victory.
The game finished with Anthony Davis having 34 points, 10 rebounds, and shooting 63% from the field. His teammate, Lebron James was an assist shy of a triple-double with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists. Both these guys played as expected of them and showed up when it really counted, so we’ll see how they perform today.

Russell Westbrook is looking to improve and help the Rockets take the series lead
The Houston Rockets missed the “good” Russell Westbrook on Sunday, as they had to carry a “terrible” version of himself throughout the game. Russell ran into a combination of foul trouble and very bad shooting. It was so bad, the Lakers were leaving him wide open for threes, which proved to be just too mentally heavy on him to make. He ended up with 10 points on a 4/15 (27%) shooting night and had an embarrassing 7 turnovers in the game.
However, Houston fans should look at this as a silver lining, as they only ended up losing by 8 points on a terrible night for one of their superstars. Another thing to mention is that the Lakers had a great game from their two stars, so if you feel that Westbrook might pick it up next game, then this might be a good result for Houston.
In terms of injuries for this upcoming Game 3, for the Lakers, we have as questionable and Dion Waiters as doubtful. The Rockets count on their full squad as nobody on their roster is on the injury report.
