The fans at Wells Fargo Arena will be treated to a game between the 18th ranked Purdue Boilermakers and the Arizona State Sun Devils when they take their seats on Tuesday. They open up the 2016 Jimmy V Classic as they tip off at 7 pm EST.  The annual two-game showcase of some of the nations best teams is named after North Carolina State Legen Jimmy Valvano. The Jimmy V Classic raises millions every year for cancer research.

Oddsmakers currently have the Boilermakers listed as 11½-point favorites versus the Sun Devils, while the game’s total is sitting at 154.

Arizona State was a 97-73 winner in their most recent outing at home against Rebels. They covered the -7-point spread as favorites. The Sun Devils (5-3) traveled 4,300 miles from Phoenix to New York on Sunday. Their road schedule that has taken them to Orlando and the Bahamas since Nov. 17. By the time Arizona State meets San Diego State on Dec. 10, they will have flown 12,900 miles and slept in hotels 11 of 25 nights.

The Boilermakers committed a season-low nine turnovers in a 90-56 win over Morehead State on Saturday and had a season-high 27 assists. Purdue ranks seventh nationally in assists per game (19.8) and has had at least 20 in five of its eight games.
