Giannis Antetokounmpo, Main Favorite of Winning MVP Winner 2019/2020

Giannis Antetokounmpo Nba Mvp Favorite

The Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo is Clear Favorite for NBA MVP

The 2019/2020 NBA season is on a home stretch and the sportsbooks, pundits and gamblers alike are hedging their bets on players the believe will win this year’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).

While, the odds for five of the top players to win the MVP award has fluctuated over the season, it is becoming clearer, if you have had your eyes on the trend graph since the beginning of the season, who might actually nick the award.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Lebron James, James Harden, Anthony Davis, and Luka Doncic are all in contention for the top individual prize. Who will win it at the end of the season?

Giannis Antetokounmpo Nba Most Valuable Player Favorite

Giannis Antetokounmpo favorite again (-670)

Giannis is the runner away favorite to win this season’s MVP after posting impressive number since the beginning of the 2019/2020 season. The Greek Freak who won the award last year is largely expected to retain his MVP title again this year.

Giannis has been an impactful player for Milwaukee Bucks taking an average of 20 shots per game, shooting 54.9 percent from the floor and consistently nicking three-points from here and there while chalking up a 31.3 percent conversion rate of all his attempts from behind the arc – it quite hard to make any case against him winning the MVP again.

With less than 30 games to go, Giannis sits as the -670 to win it again according to online sportsbook Unibet and the award is pretty much his to lose.

Luka Doncic (+800)

At +800 odds to win the MVP Mavericks’ guard Luka Doncic comes in second on the sportsbook ranking following an incredible run with his team.

The 20-year-old had posted stunning stats since the season start, averaging 30.6 points, 9.9 rebounds, 9.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game in 19 games. He has scored more than 40 points in three of his last seven games and has effectively moved Mavericks from a fringe playoff competitor at the start of the season to top four team in the Western conference.

LeBron James (+900)

James LeBron is on our third position at +900 odds to nick this season’s most valuable player award. LeBron who has already won the award four times is looking to add a fifth MVP award.

While many see LeBron sharing points with his Lakers teammate Davis as a handicap, unlike other contenders for the title like Giannis and Doncic who are the best players in their respective teams. They expect it to count against him in the final vote for the MVP title 2019/2020.

However, the four-time MVP has chalked up quite a number in the last nine games where he is averaging 27.2 points per game and shooting 50.5% from the field which are well above his season-long averages. At the same time, he still maintains his leading 10.0 assists per game with 7.9 rebounds.

James Harden (+1200)

At the beginning of the season Harden was at +500 odds to take the MVP awards away from Giannis. However, his price took a hit after teaming up with Russell Westbrook in Houston.

The 2017/2018 MVP winner averaged 30.4 points per game during the season he carted home the award. Last season he averaged 36.1 points per game. It will be difficult to replicate the same scoring stats as he did the last two seasons playing alongside Westbrook.

Anthony Davis (+5000)

Allowing two superstars play in the same team, is certainly an effective strategy to win an NBA title, but it is really not a good formula for an MVP award.

In the case of Davis Anthony playing alongside LeBron surely impacts his game on the positive, but it also means, he may not be able to rack up the required stats to win an MVP award, this sentiment is shared by most sportsbooks, at least that’s the story the +5000 odds tell.
