Georgia Tech Hosts 6th Ranked FSU

‘Noles Have Proven to be Among Best in ACC

The fans at Hank McCarmish Pavilion the 6th-ranked Florida State Seminoles play the pesky Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Wednesday night. Florida State has proven this season that it is more than just a football school. The Seminoles are 18-2 this season and ranked No. 6 in the nation. That is higher than the more high profile progams of North Carolina, Duke, Virginia and Louisville.

Oddsmakers opened the Seminoles as -8-point favorites versus the Yellow Jackets, while the game’s total opened at 141.5.

In their last action, Georgia Tech was a 62-49 loser on the road against Virginia Cavaliers. They covered the +17-point spread as underdogs. If Georgia Tech is going to have a chance to beat FSU they can’t afford to miss close shots like it did in Saturday’s 62-49 loss to Virginia. The game was closer than the final score. Georgia Tech trailed 29-28 with 4:26 left in the first half but failed to score again before intermission. Virginia led 35-28 at the break. That stretch included two turnovers and a missed layup.

Florida State was a 73-68 winner in its last match at home against the Louisville Cardinals. They failed to cover the -5.5-point spread as favorites. FSU is another one of those high-level offensive teams. To beat them requires maximum effort and minimum mistakes. The Seminoles average 85.7 points, second in the ACC, and lead the conference with 49.8 percent field goal percentage.
