Steelers Look to Take Control of the AFC
The NFL season has just passed the midway point and we are in for a treat with the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers. This is one of those classic rivalry games which makes for the perfect opportunity to place your winning bet.
The question is, will you place a bet on the underdog Cowboys or take your chances on the undefeated Steelers to cover the spread? Let’s see what Handicappers Hideaway has to say about this Sunday showdown.
TIME: 4:25 p.m. ET. TV: CBS ; WAGER6 BETTING LINE: PITTSBURGH STEELERS -14 / TOTAL 43 *
We’ll be talking about two opponents in two very different scenarios for the season. One team, Dallas, is playing worse and worse as the weeks go by, with a loss in orientation as far as their offense and defense go. The other team, Pittsburgh, is the only team that is still undefeated in the league and is gaining momentum as one of the favorites to win it all. This rivalry game might not provide much entertainment as far as a competitive game goes, but the Cowboys still have a chance to ruin their opponent’s win streak and bring them back to reality.
Dallas Cowboys are in desperate need to end their losing streak
The Cowboys are riding a 3 game losing streak and are currently 3rd in the NFC East with a 2-6 record. The problem is that this team is taking a beating on the defensive side as well as on the offensive side, just their last 3 games alone ended in a 14 point loss, 22 point loss and a 28 point loss. They have scored a total of 21 points in their last 3 games and have allowed 86 points, that doesn’t sound right, does it?
The season is playing out to be an embarrassing one for this Texan team, with everything falling out of place as the season comes along. A good example of this is Dak Prescott’s season-ending injury with a fractured and dislocated right ankle in Week 5. Due to this, the Cowboys are expected to start Andy Dalton at Quarterback, which is the least of their worries as they need to see how to solve their defensive issues.

Pittsburgh Steelers are all about maintaining their undefeated record
As mentioned before, the Steelers are the remaining undefeated team in the NFL. They have won against the Ravens, Titans, Browns, Eagles, Texans, Broncos, and Giants. Some would contend they still need to beat a few powerhouses to cement their status as title contenders. Others will say they have already beaten good teams in Baltimore and Tennessee, so this is up for debate as to whether the Steelers are up to the Superbowl challenge at the end of the season.
The season’s success has been due in large part to their veteran Quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, who has already thrown 15 TDs and 1,628 total yards. You can’t have a great quarterback without a few good wide receivers, which is why we need to mention Chase Claypool, who is leading the team with 375 catching yards and 5 TDs. Close behind is the popular Juju Smith-Schuster, who has 346 receiving yards and 3 TDs. The difference between these two receivers is that Claypool has fumbled the ball 3 times already, compared to none from Juju.
Our betting prediction for this game is to take the Steelers on the spread. The Dallas Cowboys look lost and disorientated so far this season, and Pittsburgh will probably run them over. Don’t think too much into this game, but if you want to play it safe, take Pittsburgh on the moneyline. Unless some craziness happens during the game, the Steelers will continue their streak and end the week with an 8-0 record.
The Dart Throw: Pittsburgh Steelers 33 – 17 Dallas Cowboys
