Blue Bombers Huge Favorites over Argonauts
The Toronto Argonauts head on the road this week to face the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in tonight’s inter-division clash at IG Field. The Blue Bombers opened as 12-point home favorites with the total set at 53 points for the slated 8:30 p.m. start. The line is not Winnipeg -14 and the total is down to 51.5.
Toronto continues to struggle after winning just four games all last season. With Saturday’s 18-17 loss to British Columbia as an eight-point home underdog, it has gone 0-3 straight-up to start the season with a 1-2 record against the spread after covering the closing betting line at BetAnySports. The total has stayed UNDER in the Argonauts’ last two games after going OVER in a crushing 64-14 loss at home against Hamilton in their season opener.
The Argos have been outscored a combined 114-38 in their first three games. Mcleod Bethel-Thompson continues to get the call at quarterback, While he did throw for 303 yards and a score in Saturday’s loss, he is well down the list in total passing yards among quarterbacks with at least three games under their belts. He has two touchdown throws verse two interceptions on the year.
Blue Bombers are only Unbeaten Left in CFL
At the opposite end of the spectrum, Winnipeg comes into Friday night’s inter-division clash at 3-0 both SU and ATS. This is the only undefeated team left in the CFL following a 29-14 victory against Ottawa last Friday as a three-point road underdog. The total stayed UNDER 54 points in that game. The Blue Bombers has scored at least 28 points in each of their first three outings. The total has stayed UNDER in two of those three games.
Quarterback Matt Nichols left Friday’s game in the third quarter with an apparent neck injury. It did not appear to be serious so he should be back in the starting line this Friday night. Through his first three games, he has tossed a CFL high seven touchdowns against just one interception. Chris Streveler took his place against Ottawa and he completed six of his eight passing attempts for 42 yards and a score.
Regardless of who is under center for Winnipeg on Friday night, I am still taking the Blue Bombers at home both SU and ATS.
The Dart Throw: Blue Bombers 36, Argonauts 13.
