Butler Visits Creighton in Big East Action Wednesday

Bulldogs and Blue Jays Tied Atop Big East

The Butler Bulldogs and the Creighton Bluejays will meet on Wednesday when they battle at CenturyLink Center. There is a log-jam at the top of the Big East with these two squads, Villanova, Xavier, and Seton Hall.  Expect things to shake themselves out quickly starting tonight.

Oddsmakers opened the Bluejays as -3-point favorites versus the Bulldogs, while the game’s total sits at 153.

Last time out for Creighton, they were a 78-64 winner as they battled the Providence Friars on the road. They covered as a -5.5-point favorite. Creighton moved up two spots two No. 8 in both the Associated Press and USA Today coaches polls. After victories last week over St. John’s and Providence they improved to 15-1. That’s the highest ranking ever by a Creighton team.

Last time out for Butler, they were a 85-76 winner as they battled the Georgetown Hoyas on the road. They covered as a -2.5-point favorite. Butler plays great perimeter defense. Opponents have made just 42.1 percent of their field-goal attempts this season and have shot only 29.9 percent from 3-point land.
