BetAnySports’ TNT NBA Tuesday Pick of the Day
San Antonio Spurs vs. Miami Heat
BAS’ Current Line: Spurs -8 and the total is at 195 1/2.
The San Antonio Spurs will be going for the season sweep of the Miami Heat this Tuesday night in an inter-conference matchup on TNT. BetAnySports has opened the Spurs as 6.5-point road favorites for this contest and the betting odds for the total is sitting at 195 1/2.
San Antonio has been on a roll lately with a 6-1 record both straight-up and against the spread in its last seven outings. The Spurs hammered Memphis 103-89 this past Sunday as eight-point home favorites after pasting Dallas 94-76 last Friday as 8.5-point favorites at home. The total stayed UNDER in both of those contests and it has now stayed UNDER in four of their last six games. San Antonio heads back on the road with a SU record of 18-18 this season while going 17-19 ATS.
Kawhi Leonard scored a game-high 25 points in Sunday’s win while shooting 11-for-17 from the field. On the year he leads the Spurs with 16.1 points per game and he is hitting 46.5 percent of his shots from the floor and 32.9 percent from three-point range. San Antonio is ninth in the NBA in scoring with an average of 102.7 PPG and defensively it is ranked seventh in the league in points allowed (97.4).
The Heat have lost three of their last five games both SU and ATS, but they are coming off a much needed 109- 102 victory against Detroit on Sunday after closing as 2.5-point home favorites on BetAnySports’ betting odds for the game. The total went OVER the 193.5-point line after staying UNDER in seven of their previous eight contests. Miami is now an even 18-18 SU at home this season with a 16-18-2 record ATS.
Scoring points on a consistent basis has been an issue for the Heat this season with an average of 94.7 PPG and Sunday was the first time Miami eclipsed the century mark in its last five games. Dwyane Wade had a big night against the Pistons with 40 points and on the year he is leading the Heat in scoring with 21.8 PPG. Luol Deng led the way in Miami’s 99-86 loss to Atlanta last Friday with 17 points and 10 rebounds, but he had to leave Sunday’s game due to soreness in his knee.
The Spurs won the first meeting this season 98-85 in early February as 12.5-point favorites and while the final score should be a bit closer this team around, stick with San Antonio to win and cover BetAnySport’s 8-point spread in this game as well.
