BetAnySports’ NBA on TNT Tuesday Pick of the Day: Houston Rockets vs. Phoenix Suns
Houston Rockets vs. Phoenix Suns
Current BAS’ Line: Suns -2 and the total is sitting at 216.
The Houston Rockets and the Phoenix Suns clash this Tuesday night at the US Airways Center in a prime-time matchup on TNT. BetAnySports has opened the Rockets as slight two-point road underdogs in this Western Conference clash and the betting odds on the total have been set at 218.
The Rockets are coming off a stunning 109-98 loss to Portland this past Sunday as 4.5-point home favorites. It was just their second straight-up loss in their last eight games and they are 5-3 against the spread during this stretch. They will now head on the road where they have gone 17-8 SU and 13-12 ATS this season. The total has gone OVER in three of their last four outings.
James Harden leads the NBA in scoring with an average of 27.5 points per game and despite the fact that he posted 45 points against the Trail Blazers it was still not enough to avoid the 11-point loss. Houston is ranked seventh in the league in scoring with 102.8 PPG, but it drops all the way to 22nd when it comes to shooting the ball with a 43.9 field goal percentage.
The Suns are also coming off a bad loss after falling to Sacramento 85-83 on Sunday as 7.5-point favorites on the road. It was their fourth SU loss in their last five games and they have gone a costly 3-7 ATS in their last 10 contests. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySport’s closing 208-point line against Portland and it has now stayed UNDER in their last eight games.
Part of the Suns’ problem in Sunday’s loss was the absence of their leading scorer Eric Bledsoe, who was with his wife while expecting the birth of their child. His status for Tuesday is listed as probable at this time. Phoenix is ranked fifth in the NBA in scoring with an average of 105.7 PPG, but it has been in a scoring drought for the past eight games in which that average dropped to just 95.5 points. The Suns are one of the most porous teams in the league with a defense that is allowing an average of 104.3 points on the other end of the court.
It remains to be seen what affect Bledsoe’s playing status will have on BetAnySports’ actual point spread for this game at tipoff, but I am going with Houston to quickly turn things around on Tuesday night with a comfortable SU win on the road as a slight underdog.
