Sale and Verlander Square off in ALDS
This Sunday, Manager John Farrell, announced that his Ace, Chris Sale, would start Game 1 of the ALDS. Sale is 17-8 and a 2.90 ERA. The MLB leader in strikeouts, with 308, will make his first postseason appearance on Thursday. The game is scheduled to start at 4:08 PM ET on FOX Sports 1.
Oddsmakers have the Astros as -138-moneyline favorites. The total is sitting at 7.

Justin Verlander will be toeing the rubber for the Astros in Game 1. Verlander has been basically unhittable since joining the Astros. He’s won all six games that he started as an Astro. He has given up only four runs in blue and orange.
Verlander is 5-0 with a 1.06 ERA following his trade from the Detroit Tigers. He will make his 17th career postseason start with his usual intensity and commitment to perfection.
Houston took the regular season series four games to three. October baseball is an entirely different story, however. The winner will be determined by who is able to carry momentum into each game and who will capitalize on the other’s mistakes. It’s finally here – playoff baseball.
