WVA Looks to Rebound after OT Loss

The West Virginia Mountaineers and the Kansas State Wildcats will both be in unfamiliar territory on Saturday when they battle at Bramlage Coliseum. KState is coming off a rare Big XII road win, and WVA is coming off a rare conference loss.

Oddsmakers opened the Mountaineers as -3-point favorites versus the Wildcats, while the game’s total opened at 148.5.

Last time out for Kansas State, they were a 96-88 winner as they battled Oklahoma State Cowboys on the road. They covered in the match as a +3-point underdog. Kansas State is in the middle of the pack in the Big 12 at 12.9 turnovers per game. The Wildcats committed 12 turnovers during their defeat of Oklahoma State.  That was just the second time in the last 17 trips that they left Stillwater with a victory.

West Virginia lost its last outing, a 89-87 result against Oklahoma Sooners on January 18. They failed to cover in that game as a -16.5-point favorite. West Virginia, which is known to its fans as “Press Virginia,” leads the Big 12 Conference,  and the entire nation, in turnovers forced with 23.6 per game. The Mountaineers also lead the conference and the nation in turnover margin at plus-12.5. That is more than double of what Fordham averages, which is the next closest team.
