Lightning Could Make Things Interesting in the 2022 Stanley Cup
By Charles Jay
Yes, BetAnySports patrons have seen that the Tampa Bay Lightning have some life in them after all. They can make this 2022 Version of the Stanley Cup very entertaining.
Rebounding from a humiliating experience in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals, they regained some intensity after coming home to the Amalie Arena and piled it on against the Colorado Avalanche, recording a 6-2 victory that effectively made this a series again.
In Game 3, Andrei Vasilevskiy, who was shelled in the first two games in the process of allowing eleven goals, stopped 37 of 39 shots to get his mojo back. And not only did Tampa Bay have 32 shots on goal – more than it had in the first two games combined, the Bolts also chased Colorado goaltender Darcy Kuemper.
So has this changed things entirely? That’s something we have to find out. They’re facing off at 8:15 PM ET at Amalie.

Stanley Cup Betting — The injury situation
It doesn’t necessarily bode well for Tampa Bay. It looks as if Brayden Point’s hip injury is going to keep him out of action for a second consecutive game, while Nikita Kucherov, perhaps the Lightning’s top offensive threat, is hurting as well. He took a cross-check toward the end of Monday’s game, but coach Jon Cooper has said he expects him to play.

Stanley Cup Betting — A comeback for the netminder?
Yes, Vasilevskiy had a brilliant game in goal. And it should be noted that in his playoff career coming into this series, he’s had a 2.24 goals-against. And he’s also had a 1.72 GAA at home in these playoffs, compared with 3.29 on the road. So he does appear to be a different goalie.
And maybe that’s the kind of thing that isn’t great news for the Avs.
Stanley Cup Betting –What IS great news?
Well, it’s that Colorado was still able to apply the pressure enough to get those 39 shots on Vaz. And they have the defenseman in Cale Makar who can make things happen. Makar was just awarded the Norris Trophy as the top defenseman in the NHL.
And in no small part due to his stewardship, the Avs exerted some control of the puck. At even strength, Colorado’s Corsi figure is 63.7%, which is good in any league. But it just did not convert into scoring.
In 24 minutes on the ice, Makar had five shots on goal and assisted on both Colorado goals.
Stanley Cup Betting — Conclusion
For a team averaging about four and a half goals during this playoff season, we’re not certain this is a team that is going to-be kept down offensively for very long. And despite the heroics of Vasilevskiy, who lost out to Igor Shesterkin for the Vezina Trophy, the Lightning’s defense has been way too permissive in terms of giving away scoring chances.
It’s interesting that there haven’t been too many low-scoring games for Colorado in these playoffs, and on the road they have played to an average of eight goals per game. They can get through to Vasilevskiy, at least a bit more than usual. We’re okay going OVER the total of six goals for this game.
