Tiger Woods and Son Playing in 2020 PNC Championship
The 2020 PNC Championship, which used to be known as the Father-Son Challenge, usually receives a passive amount of interest. That all changes this year, and for good reason.
The tournament pairs up a lot of the top PGA Tour stars from the past and present with one of their family members. This results in a 40-player, 20-team, limited field event.
Teams will play in a scramble format. Unlike other golf events, there is no cut.
Tiger Woods and his 11-year-old son Charlie will tee it up together in a tournament for the first time. All eyes will be on Tiger and son to see if we have a chip off the old block.
The to make it more interesting, Annika Sorenstam is playing with her father. If you have forgotten Sorenstam is a LPGA tour legend that retired in the middle of her outstanding career. She was dominating the sport on the ladies side like never before. She was even receiving sponsors exemptions to play on the PGA Tour. It will be nice to see her smacking the rock around again.
Then you throw in the other PGA stars playing with their sons, fathers, and father in law’s, and this weekend will be awesome for the golf fans. Other notable teams in the field are Justin Thomas and his father, Bubba Watson and his father-in-law, and John Daly and his 17-year-old son:
