Today’s article will cover the Mid-American Conference Championship Game. The MAC is as competitive as they come when it comes to non-Power 5 schools, and its title game features its best two teams. Before we get to the preview lets preview what is to come this weekend.

TV: 12:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2. LINE: Central Michigan -6.5; O/U: 54.5

Championship week is officially here in the 2019 college football season. The whole weekend will be filled with the best of the best from every conference going against each other for their conference titles.

Teams are still jockeying for their bowl positions, and championship weekend will help determine who the contenders are for the best bowls in the country.

College football will be coming your way on Friday and Saturday, so strap in for a weekend full of exciting action and betting.

The Miami (Ohio) RedHawks will be taking on the Central Michigan Chippewas. These two teams have held strong at the top of the conference all season long and will finally get to settle the score once and for all.

Running Game Key for Chippewas

For the Chippewas, the name of the game is running the football. They like to run, run, and run some more for their offense, and their scheme is predicated on star running back Jonathan Ward to get going out of the backfield.

Ward is a blue-chipper and a great three-down back that is a threat to any defense. He has power and speed and has over 1,000 yards rushing on the year to go with 15 touchdowns in 12 games. He is the star of the show for their offense.

At quarterback is Quinten Dormady, who has the keys to this Chippewa offense. Dormady has been an excellent quarterback all season long and helps lead the fast-paced Central Michigan offense.

Ward and Dormady play off of each other well, and they will be a nightmare combination for the RedHawks to try and stop.

Speaking of the RedHawks, running back Jaylon Bester is the man to set the tempo. The RedHawks really like to slow the game down and play at their own pace, so it will be interesting to see how much they can keep Central Michigan’s offense off of the field.

Brett Gabbert, who is Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Blaine Gabbert’s younger brother, helms the quarterback position for the RedHawks. Gabbert is conservative in this offense and really tries to play mistake-free.

Gabbert also has a handful of rushing touchdowns on the season, and while he is not the best running quarterback out there, he has the ability to extend plays with his legs.

This, That and a College Football Dart Throw

Central Michigan averages over 30 points a game as an offense, while Miami’s defense gives up nearly 400 yards a game.

The problem in this game will be the Red Hawks’ ability to string together consistent stops. I think their best bet to slowing down the Chippewas’ offense is to try and keep their offense off of the field. Play the clock, slow the game down, and look to execute long, multi-play drives.

If this game becomes a shootout, then it’s good luck to Miami.

Even with that being said, these two teams are some of the best that the MAC has to offer, and they are fairly evenly matched across the board.

Being at a neutral field, our friends over at VietBet have Central Michigan favored in this contest at -6.5 and the total at 54.5. You can deposit with BitCoin on VietBet’s website to safely bet on this game.

I like the prospect of Ward having a monster game for Central Michigan, and I think once he gets going, it will become easy for the Chippewas to put a huge amount of points on the board.

I wouldn’t be thinking underdog in this game, and I would be playing safe.

The Dart Throw: Central Michigan at -6.5
