Can UFC 257 Stand up to the Hype?
The wait is over! Our favorite Irishman, Conor McGregor is coming back into the octagon to face Dustin Poirier for the Main Card of UFC 257. There’s nothing better than placing a good ol’ UFC Bet when McGregor is fighting as most of the time it’s a sure win for him. Wager6, a well-respected online sportsbook will be sponsoring this article as we give you the full analysis of the upcoming fighting event.
The event is to be held in Abu Dhabi, specifically at the Etihad Stadium, where we have all grown accustomed to the popular Fight Islands. This destination came about as a solution for the pandemic in 2020, which holds a minimum of spectators and can follow the protocols in a simpler way, as they are far from any major venues.
Remember, this is an event with various fights, so you’ll be able to bet on various different cards throughout the day. If you are looking to put in a couple of parlays, then just head over to Wager6 and connect a couple of fighters in a parlay and look for one of those big wins.
You’ll be able to see most of these fights through ESPN+ and UFC Fight Pass, however, the main fight will be a Pay per View event. Here is the full card for UFC 257 along with their divisions:

Dustin Poirier looks for revenge from his last fight against McGregor
As you might already know, this isn’t the first time these to fellas meet in the octagon. The last time they fought was UFC 178, where McGregor came out as the victor after clipping Poirier near his right ear and sending him to the floor for a TKO. Back then, Poirier was the favorite as the Irishman was still a while away from stardom. This was actually one of those moments when the Notorious started to rise to superstar levels after that beatdown.
This time around, we expect both fighters to bring some adjustments to the fold. Conor McGregor will come out as the aggressor, looking for a quick knockout and avoid going the distance, whereas Poirier has better stamina and will be looking to concentrate on defense and counter strikes.
Both fighters carry a southpaw stance and have similar reach, they also share similar percentages in their grappling defense, successful punches and striking defense. So, this might come down to who connects the bigger blow. Like we said, if Poirier is able to keep his cool from Conor’s ongoing attacks, he should be able to tire him out and start focusing on connecting punches.
The Final Word
As per Wager6’s betting odds for the UFC, we have to go with McGregor for the win. Even though we feel everybody is a little “too overly confident” on the Irishman, we still feel he’ll be celebrating in the end.
Dustin Poirier has an amazing skill set, and should be feared by all, but Conor will be out to show the world he is still one of the best and quickest UFC fighters out there. I’m sure Khabib will be watching… as he might be interested in seeing what his next opponent (just a rumor!) has to offer.
