- The drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will continue the Chase on Sunday afternoon as they take the track in the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Brad Keselowski held off Jeff Gordon and Kyle Larson last time out to win the first race of the Chase, the MyAFibStory.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.
Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick rounded out the top five drivers at Chicagoland Speedway, with Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Jamie McMurray, and Matt Kenseth making up the rest of the Top 10 on the day.
Keselowski, Gordon, Logano, and Harvick hold down the top four spots in the 16-driver Chase for the Sprint Cup field after one event. Keselowski’s victory at Chicagoland guarantees him a spot in the Contender Round of this year’s Chase.
Kenseth won the Sylvania 300 last season, with Kyle Busch, Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson, and McMurray following him across the finish line in that race. Keselowski won the Camping World RV Sales 301 at New Hampshire in July.
After racing at New Hampshire the drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will move on to Dover International Speedway for the AAA 400 on September 28. The rest of the Chase races will take place at Kansas, Charlotte, Talladega, Martinsville, Texas, Phoenix, and Homestead-Miami.
