Can the Ravens get on Track Against the Bengals on Sunday Night Football
By Charles Jay
It’s too early to push the panic button for the Baltimore Ravens going into Sunday Night Football. Yet, it has to be something of a concern that this team has lost big leads in its two defeats. The Cincinnati Bengals, the defending AFC champs, could have also panicked after dropping their first two. But they have been able to scratch out a couple of victories.
Now they go and visit what has to be an angry Ravens team at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. Kickoff is at 8:20 PM ET on NBC.

Baltimore looked very imposing for a while in last week’s home game against Buffalo. They were up 20-3, but just as was the case a couple of weeks prior, they could not shut the door. Rather, they fell victim to 16 straight points and a 23-20 Bills triumph.
Controversy arose over a call made by head coach John Harbaugh (discussed below). And the defense found itself once again susceptible to big plays.
After losing to Pittsburgh and Dallas in the first two weeks, the Bengals have scored consecutive wins over the Jets and Dolphins. And last year they created some distance between themselves and the Ravens, winning by scores of 41-21 and 41-17.
So maybe some payback is in order.

Sunday Night Football NFL Betting — About the Baltimore Ravens
In the fourth quarter last week, the Ravens faced a fourth-and-two at the Buffalo 2-yard line with the score tied 20-20. Rather than kick a field goal, Harbaugh made the decision to go for it, and Lamar Jackson threw an interception into the end zone, which allowed Buffalo to get the ball on the 20 and drive for the winning field goal.
Cornerback Marcus Peters was livid, and had to be held back from attacking his coach on the sideline. And it ignited a debate on social media about the role of analytics in making in-game decisions. By and large, the players seemed to support Harbaugh’s decision.
Jackson, angling for a lucrative contract extension, is on a pace that would bring him 1343 yards rushing and 46 touchdown passes. So needless to say, this team knows how to move the ball.
Sunday Night Football NFL Betting — About the Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow went 20 of 31 for 287 yards and two touchdowns against Miami, which played most of the game without Tua Tagovailoa. Tee Higgins had 124 receiving yards and Ja’marr Chase added 81. But the ground game hasn’t worked very well. The Bengals are averaging 3.1 yards an attempt.
That is going to be a continual problem for Cincinnati – getting some balance into the offense. And Burrow, according to some, will be running for his life too much.
Sunday Night NFL Betting — Our conclusion
Okay, here’s what’s interesting: although Cincinnati’s offensive line has surrendered 16 sacks, only three of those have come in the last two games. And Burrow does not seem to need protection or a ground game of any significance to make things work. Just look at what he did last season.
It should be noted that Chase made sport out of the Baltimore secondary in last year’s two meetings, tallying 201 yards in one game and 125 in the other. aside from him,. Higgins is averaging 15.8 yards a catch and Tyler Boyd 16.8.
Our instinct is to lean toward the Ravens here. But keep in mind that they have lost five straight games at home. Considering that Jackson, who will get it far down the field, is hard to stop, the most judicious thing might be to look toward the “over” in this one.
