Tenth-ranked Auburn will look to avoid a letdown after an emotional win against Kentucky over the weekend. The War Eagles go after a fifth straight win. The Tigers moved into a tie for second in the conference after the Kentucky victory. The team shot just 35.3% from the field but pounded Kentucky 17-6 on the offensive glass in a satisfying 75-66 win Saturday.

“It has to take us from good to very good now,” Auburn coach Bruce Pearl told reporters. “It does…. The point that I’ve been making – and maybe it’s because the schedule hasn’t presented it – Kentucky is the best team we’ve played. So, I thought we stepped up and responded. I thought we took a step from good to very good. Now the question is can we build on it.” The Tigers would welcome an effort close to last season when they rolled to a 76-53 victory at home while holding the Razorbacks to shooting 32.8% from the field.

Arkansas is a much better team this season and is 11-2 at home. The Razorbacks rebounded from a 1-3 stretch with a vital 82-78 victory on the road at Alabama on Saturday. They fell behind 12-0 and was able to rebound as guard Mason Jones dialed up 30 points to continue his scoring surge. “To play on the road in the SEC is never easy and kind of felt like it was a must-win for us based on our last home game,” Arkansas coach Eric Musselman told reporters. “Just proud of how we battled.” The Razorbacks lead the nation in 3-point field goal percentage defense by holding opponents to 24.7% from beyond the arc. They also top the SEC in steals per game at 8.5.
