NFL Week 8 Preview (Part I)

Betting On Nfl Football         It was a crazy week seven in the NFL and week eight promises to be much of the same excitement. Here are a couple of previews of next week’s games for those who are interested in NFL betting. Oakland Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs It will be Brady Quinn who starts ahead of Matt Cassel next week against the Oakland Raiders. Both teams have had a difficult year thus far, and need to start winning. Oakland finally got their first win last week against the Jaguars; however, they are sitting at the very bottom of the AFC West. This should be a game for the Chiefs to lose, but let’s not forget, Brady Quinn is not a very good quarterback. Ever since entering the NFL from Notre Dame he has been tossed from team to team with little or no hope to ever be a starter. At Oakland, it will be interesting to see if Quinn can handle those wild Raider fans. The Chiefs so far have had an unfortunate passing game, getting 214 yards per game. Hopefully Quinn will be able to beat those numbers, but it is doubtful. The Raiders are not hopeless come next Sunday. They have a good passing game with Carson Palmer who has thrown for 1732 yards with seven touchdowns. It still isn’t great, but it is significantly better than both Cassel’s and Quinn’s numbers combined. Of Course, Darren McFadden will be a factor for the Raiders’’ running game. The defense will have to stop the Chiefs’ Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe if they want to win this one. Many sportsbooks and online betting sites will have the Chiefs win this game, but there is something about this matchup that may have the Raiders come out on top. New Orleans Saints vs. Denver Broncos It will be a battle of quarterbacks and Peyton Manning and Drew Brees face off at Mile High Stadium. While the Broncos sit a .500, the Saints are looking to bounce back after a rough start to the season. Drew Brees is having a decent year at quarterback despite what their record tells us. He has 2097 yards accumulated with 18 touchdowns, almost 200 yards and four touchdowns more than Manning. The Saints have a decent passing game led by Marques Colston, while Brees passes for 335 yards per game. The Saints currently sit in second place in the NFC South behind the seemingly unstoppable Atlanta Falcons. They are playing for second place and perhaps playoff hopes. Where Denver may have the advantage is in Willis McGahee and their rushing abilities. While the Saints only run for 76 yards a game, the Broncos manage to do a little better at 93 yards per game. Manning will need to hook up with receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker consistently in order to stay at .500. Many sports betting sites and NFL fans have the Broncos as the favorite, but look for the Saints to work back up the ranks of their awful record and deliver an upset.
