Including Wilson vs. Rodgers and other Intriguing NFL Picks

We’re not sure there is as much tension as there used to be in a heavyweight championship fight in the old days, but there are a lot of people – including BetAnySports customers making their NFL picks, we’re certain – who are going to have interest in a game beginning at 4:25 PM ET between the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers.
That’s because we’ll see the return to action of two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks. Russell Wilson had been out for almost a month with a broken finger, while Aaron Rodgers…. well, you know what happened to him.
The fallout from Rodgers’ positive COVID-19 test and the subsequent revelation that he did take the vaccine caused a furor that transcended sports, so it is understandable that some people who don’t normally follow the NFL will be tuning in. to CBS for the game that is taking place at Lambeau Field.

NFL Picks — Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers,. 4:25 PM ET
Football Odds: Packers -3 (-120) / Total: 49.5 points
Because of the time Rodgers had to sit out, and the fact that the earliest he could be cleared was Saturday, he didn’t have time to practice with the team. But that shouldn’t be a problem; injured QB’s come back and do that relatively often.
Left tackle David Bakhtiari may not be completely ready to come back, but the Green Bay offensive line has done a more than credible job without him. They will protect Rodgers, who seems to have a magical sense of when to get rid of the ball, and they clear the way for running backs AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones, who have averaged 4.7 and 4.4 yards per carry, respectively.
The fact that they have a more reliable ground game is a key advantage for the Packers. And Rodgers will have more healthy receivers than when he took the field against Arizona. That means Davante Adams and Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdez-Scantling.
Wilson has people at his disposal, to be sure. And he is such an uber-competitor. But everybody is talking about what a “miraculous” comeback this is for him, in terms of the sheer speed of recovery. You wonder if he is 100% and wasn’t brought back just because the season could slip away under Geno Smith’s direction.
Seattle is a team with some holes anyway. Rodgers now takes control after the world saw what a post-Rodgers world might look like. The Pack covered that last game, which means eight covers in a row. With the better all-around side, we’ll lean their way.
NFL Picks — Philadelphia Eagles at Denver Broncos, 4:25 PM ET

Philadelphia has been going heavy with the ground game lately – in fact, they have run the ball 72% of the time in the last two games. We don’t want to get overly enthusiastic about the Broncos solely based on last week’s decimation of Dallas, but Denver coach Vic Fangio can construct a game plan to take that away and makes the Eagles more reliant on Jalen Hurts’ arm, in which Philly coach Nick Sirianni may not have all the confidence in the world.
Do you realize that the Eagles didn’t even get a quarterback hit on Justin Herbert last week? Nor did they force the Chargers to punt the football. Teddy Bridgewater has been a 70% passer and it’s okay if he wants to go with the short routes, because the Eagles have surrendered 75.5% completions, which would be the highest in NFL history if the season ended now. This is a bargain price with the home team.
NFL Picks — Carolina Panthers at Arizona Cardinals, 4:05 PM ET
NFL Odds: Cardinals -10 / Total: 43 points
Carolina is desperate enough for quarterback help that they signed Cam Newton, who threw for eight TD’s with New England last year, and head coach Matt Rhule has said that once Newton knows the offense enough, he’s going to start.
For now, it’s PJ Walker, who has thrown five INT’s in 71 attempts in limited NFL playing time. And Christian McCaffrey, who has averaged just 3.8 yards a carry, may not be a big difference-maker here.
Our understanding is that Colt McCoy will start again for Kyler Murray. Keep in mind that there is a reason McCoy is a “journeyman.” He doesn’t make a habit of stringing together great performances. We’re going UNDER here.
