NCAA Odds: After Week 1 Success, Irish Turn Heads on Moneyline
An enormous 50-10 win over Navy last week was enough to launch the Notre Dame Fighting Irish into the AP’s Top 25 for Week 2. If they can carry some of that momentum on into the rest of their season, college football oddsmakers may well see yet one more contender on the NCAA scene.

Although the Irish are as rich in football tradition as any in the country, they weren’t exactly national favorites to win the BCS. Questions regarding the quarterback situation and suspensions to a number of key contributors to start the season were difficult to ignore.
With one significant victory under their belts, however, the Fighting Irish will turn to Purdue for another. With a -14.5 advantage on the college football moneyline, the Irish will be one of the more intriguing programs on the Saturday schedule.
If they can continue to impress, then their Week 3 and 4 matchups against Michigan State and Michigan will be all the more integral to the long term BCS futures.
It’s still far too early to consider Notre Dame’s 2012 season a success, but the sheer dominance they showed in their Week 1 tilt against undermanned Navy at least reminded us not to rule it out.
