The second half of the NBA season is in full swing and we have a perfect betting opportunity when the Charlotte Hornets visit the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. Lamelo Ball, the NBA’s most talked about rookie, will be eager to come back to L.A. and play his first game against King James and company. So let’s not waste any more time here and let’s start talking about the specifics for the game and who and where you should bet on. The Lakers, who are riding a 3-game winning streak, will look to continue their streak with the hopes of catching Phoenix and Utah for the top spot in the West. However, there are a couple of perspectives here, such as the fact that the Lakers are still without Anthony Davis, who is nurturing himself back to the court.

This means that Lebron will need to continue to put the team on his back, which should most likely take a toll on him in the coming games. On the other side, Phoenix and Utah need to cool off at some point, as most of the NBA feels they are on a slight winning fluke which needs to end at some point. Nonetheless, the Lakers are favored tonight at -8, giving the team a bit of comfort heading into the game.

The Hornets are 5th in the East at the moment and are on course to make the Playoffs this year, which is a relief for their owner, Michael Jordan, as he took a big risk signing Gordon Hayward for a big contract, and drafting Lamelo Ball with his lottery pick. Thankfully for Jordan and Charlotte, both have been amazing payouts for the franchise so far. The team is 6-4 in their last 10 games, and are coming off a beating from the Denver Nuggets.

There is a bit of a backstory here with Lamelo Ball and the Lakers, as the outspoken father of the Ball family, has had his negative comments towards the franchise, as Lonzo Ball was traded off to the Pelicans in the Davis trade. Thankfully, Lavar has toned down a bit, which has permitted his kids to focus more on basketball than what the media says about their family.

Wager6.ag Betting Odds for Hornets versus Lakers

As mentioned earlier, the Lakers are favorites against the Hornets by 8 points. Meaning Lebron and his team need to beat the Hornets by more than 8 points in order to cover the spread. If you were to place a bet on the Charlotte Hornets, then you have an 8 point advantage and have the luxury of losing by less than 8 points to cover.

The over/under on the game is 227 ½ , which means that the total points scored by both teams together will be over or under the amount mentioned just now. The moneyline, which is a straight up bet for the straight up winner of the game, has the Los Angeles Lakers at  -350 and the Charlotte Hornets at +275.

Our betting prediction will be to place a bet on the Charlotte Hornets to cover their spread as underdogs. We feel that Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, LaMelo Ball, PJ Washington and the rest of the crew, will bring their A game against a tiresome Lakers team. The Lakers are more focused on who they can get before the trade deadline or through a buyout, and the Lakers have not been particularly great at home this season.

If we were to suggest a bet, place it on the Hornets at +8.

The Dart Throw: Charlotte Hornets 108 – Los Angeles Lakers 103
