Well, MLB playoff betting is all set as far as the lineup of teams is concerned.
The New York Yankees got to the postseason, and it was about as dramatic as it could possibly be. And it seems that timing was somewhat to their benefit, as they are now able to go with their best pitcher, who has a full five days of rest.
Gerrit Cole gets the start on Tuesday,and he goes up against Nathan Eovaldi of the Boston Red Sox. It’s the wild card game, at Fenway Park, scheduled for 8:08 PM ET, and it will be shown on ESPN, with coverage across all platforms.

MLB Playoff Betting — Cole well-rested
Cole is 16-8 with a 3.23 ERA, and he has averaged 12.1 strikeouts per nine innings. He could have been the starter on Sunday, but manager Aaron Boone made the decision to go with Jameson Taillon, who gave him three and a third innings of work. Boone did not necessarily go back and forth about it either, as he simply did not want to compromise the rotation and knew that having Cole on five days’ rest was better than pitching him with less.

DJ LeMahieu, who led the American League in batting, on-base percentage and OPS last season, is going to miss this game, and beyond, with a sports hernia.
LeMahieu, who only hit .260 this season, is on the ten-day injured list, although he would conceivably be able to play in the American League Championship Series, if the Yankees were able to get there.
Rougned Odor, who hit 15 homers this year, has replaced LeMahieu in the lineup, and there might be some shifting around, as he played third base with Gio Urshela at shortstop on Sunday, Odor was able to break an 0-for-18 slump with a single in Sunday’s game.
Luke Voit, who led the majors in home runs last year, won’t be available at all, as knee inflammation has ended the season for him. Things became a lot more cloudy for Voit when the Yankees acquired Anthony Rizzo from the Cubs.

The Red Sox actually don’t have a .300 hitter in their lineup. But third baseman Rafael Devers led the team in homers (38), RBI (113) and OPS (.890).
Eovaldi has been the most consistent starter for them, although this might be considered something of an Achilles heel. He is 11-9 with a 3.75 ERA and 1.19 WHIP ratio. Last time out against the Yankees at Fenway (September 24), he got roughed up pretty good, giving up seven runs before he got out of the third inning. But in his four previous starts against them, he had a 2.13 ERA.

In his career, Cole has a 5.06 ERA at Fenway, pitching to an .868 OPS. So he has absolutely not been at his best there.
LeMahieu and Voit have done very well against Eovaldi in the past. But unfortunately, those guys aren’t going to be available for the Yankees. And he’s done a good job of keeping the ball from traveling over the Green Monster (just six HR’s allowed in 114 Fenway innings).
Moving with the underdog Red Sox isn’t the worst possible thing you could do; let’s put it that way.
