With a 12-3 victory in Game 2, the Cards showed that even though they may not be favored on the MLB moneyline, they’re still a team worth keeping an eye on. Their 17/2 odds of winning the World Series are far from guaranteed, but they have the experience to finish the job – unlike their opponents from Washington.
If the Nats, on the other hand, are to cash in on their own 5/1 odds on the MLB futures, they’ll need to prove a wisdom beyond their years. This is, after all, the franchise’s first postseason appearance since the Montreal Expos made the cut back in 1981.
While the Cardinals look to repeat as World Series champions, it’s hard not to appreciate their ninth postseason berth in 13 seasons. Weigh in on the second half of the best-of-five series when it resumes this week.
