Going to have a thread basically dedicated to losing weight, healthy living, exercising and etc.....Try to support each other here in achieving our own personal goals.

Going to start by posting my height and weight for today and go from there....

Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 213 lbs.

Went to the gym the last 2 days doing a 1/2 hour of cardio, some weight training, crunches and stretching. Went to steam room and hot tub afterwards.....Ate a healthy salad earlier today.

Anyone that has any tips about losing weight, exercising, healthy lifestyles or just rant is more than welcome to post here....I am open to all suggestions.

This is way more extreme to most than even being vegetarian. I went raw vegan over a year and a half ago and weight literally melted off. In fact, when most people adopt this lifestyle they don't eat enough, like me. I got crackhead skinny. Then started educating myself and have gained back to a healthy weight. It started off as weight loss for me but soon I started studying how to really detox my body after 3 decades of heavy drinking. I will be 50 next month and feel better than anytime in my life. I do yoga regularly also, but haven't really needed any other exercise to maintain weight loss. In fact I eat all day long to keep my weight where it is. Maybe youtube, but somewhere online, watch Forks over Knives. Or check out Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn. It's all about health, NOT a diet. Glad to see this thread and wish all of you guys much luck. PS. It is not that I have a great metabolism or genes. Was overweight as a kid, and have always been a big guy, not fat though.... Just let myself go from time to time.

Still weighing the same since I posted this thread. Probably hit a plateau and need to step it up another notch. Just been lazy this week.

Went to my doctor yesterday and got a clean bill of health from her anyway.

Need to get on a scale to see exactly where I'm at but feel a little lighter... tried something new this past week, ate a bowl of oatmeal 4x a day and then 1 big meal at supper time. Not sure if its healthy but feel lighter and sick of eating oatmeal.

Went to my nieces wedding last weekend....Drank some vodka that weekend too.....Paid for it dearly for three days afterwards as I got really sick.

Lesson learned....Diabetes and alcohol doesn't go hand in hand....On pills now. Don't care to go on insulin.

Well I did get my weight down to 205 now.

Hi Rue here.

Height is 5'5
Weight is 150 lbs.

I have been struggling with my weight ever since and have not had weight loss for almost 2 years now. The last time I went on a strict diet and an exercise routine mostly sit ups and running way back 2012.. I had to because of a family gathering and I really wanted to look good. Unfortunately the crash dieting combined with unsupervised exercise routines did not go well. I was surprised to see my hair falling/thinning, and I stopped everything because I was so terrified.

I am just wondering, does anyone experienced the same? Undergoing crash diet/unsupervised exercise and then the falling/thinning hair? I am not so sure if it was about the food intake or the stress or some other factors.

I am glad to have finally shared something that I was never ever proud of. I had to become unhealthy because I wanted to look good. Thinking about it, it is never worth it. I hope someone can share something about weight loss and hair fall. This really is something that still crush me emotionally. Yes, I am trying to be strong but I think I am a bit depress.

I had been reading this, I am really thinking of how good it could be but still, my priority is my over all health.

I have experienced hair loss during my weight loss process but as soon as I returned to my normal routine may hair eventually came back to its normal state.
